KFC Protest 

A protest against KFC's ongoing cruel treatment of chickens has been planned for Wednesday April 7th, 4:00pm at the KFC store at 690 Bank Street in the Glebe. (Bus #1, 6, or 7)

Information as to whether people should bring their own signs will be provided at least 5 days before the protest.

Ottawa Animal Advocates  

Next Monthly Meeting of the Ottawa Animal Advocates is on Thursday March 18, 2004 at 7:30pm at the Wild Oat Cafe located 817 Bank St, corner of Fourth Ave. (613) 232-6232. On Bus Routes #1 and #7.

Meetings of the OAA are held at the Wild Oat on the third Thursday of every month. Come out and see what the OAA is up to and enjoy Wild Oat's great vegetarian and vegan fare!

Discussion groups for people new to animal rights or who are interested in learning about animal rights are being planned for the near future. Please contact Ottawa Animal Advocates if you are interested in attending an animal rights information session.

Ottawa Animal Advocates is a grassroots, education-based Animal Rights group. Activities include discussion, letter-writing and a variety of animal rights related campaigns.

For someone like me, they now have something even more enticing: free wireless internet, as well as several power outlets for laptops. This is only available right now at their HQ location in the Glebe on Fifth Ave.

Alternatives to Animal Testing and Experimentation 

Please join Canadians for the Advancement of Health Research for a symposium on "Alternatives to Animal Testing and Experimentation in the 21st Centry". The event will be held March 27th at the University of Ottawa, Pavillon Colonel By, room CO3, 161 Louis Pasteur from 9:00 am to

Animal Cruelty Bill brought back before Parliament 

Forwarded by OAA: On Monday, March 8, the House of Commons voted to bring back before Parliament the amendments to the animal cruelty provisions of the Criminal Code. The Bill, formerly known as C-10B, will now be referred to as Bill C-22.

Vegetarian Meetup 

Come out to the Circus protest, and then right after join the meetup up Bank Street at The Wild Oat. If you would like to participate regularily, please sign up at vegetarian.meetup.com and vegan.meetup.com.

Garden Brother's Circus Protest 

Garden Brother's Circus will be at Lansdowne Park on March 9 and 10th.
We will be meeting to protest the circus at 3:45-4:15pm and 6:30-7:30pm both Tuesday and Wednesday.
Please bring your own signs!
Lansdowne is located on Bank Street by the canal. Both Bus#1 and #7 go up Bank Street from the Rideau Centre.
